I work in customer service right now. No one is nice to me. I get yelled at for trying to do my job and it's not fair. So no, I am not nice when someone threatens to stop shopping with us and yells at the top of their lungs about how terrible this store is. I'm doing my best to help and you are out of control. So next time you get mad at the girl behind the counter, or the foreign person on the phone, remember that it's likely that they just got yelled at for attempting to follow policies that their company has in place. I'm never rude unless someone is rude to me first. But don't tell me that customer service is being neglected. I know my job. What's being neglected is basic kindness. Sometimes, after I've had a terrible customer, I give the customer behind them a discount and tell them never to act like that.
