FA-niacinamide-cupric ox-zinc Oral

This combination product is used to treat acne or other skin disorders with mild redness/swelling/irritation (inflammation). It contains 2 B vitamins, folic acid and niacinamide (nicotinamide), and 2 minerals, copper and zinc. Folic acid, niacinamide, and zinc may help reduce skin redness, swelling, and irritation. Copper is added because taking zinc supplements can sometimes cause a lack of copper.

How to use FA-niacinamide-cupric ox-zinc Oral
Take this product by mouth with or without food, usually once or twice daily or as directed by your doctor.
Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same times each day.
Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.

Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, flushing, and blurred vision may infrequently occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: symptoms of high blood sugar (e.g., increased thirst, increased urination, fruity breath odor), symptoms of liver disease (e.g., dark urine, severe stomach/abdominal pain, yellowing eyes/skin).
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

Before taking this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to folic acid, niacinamide, copper, or zinc; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
This medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have: current liver disease, current ulcer, Wilson\'s disease (a certain inherited disease affecting copper metabolism).
Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: diabetes, gallbladder disease, gout, kidney disease, liver disease, stomach/ulcer problems, vitamin B12 deficiency (pernicious anemia).
This drug may make you dizzy or cause blurred vision. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness or clear vision until you are sure you can perform such activities safely. Limit alcoholic beverages.
If you have diabetes, this product may increase your blood sugar levels. Check your blood sugar levels regularly and promptly tell your doctor if you have symptoms of high blood sugar (e.g., increased thirst/urination). Your anti-diabetic medication or diet/exercise plan may need to be adjusted.
During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
This medication passes into breast milk. While there have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Your doctor or pharmacist may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for them. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with your doctor or pharmacist first.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: chloramphenicol, certain anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine, phenytoin, primidone), methotrexate, penicillamine, other vitamins/nutritional supplements.
This product can decrease the absorption of other drugs such as bisphosphonates (e.g., alendronate), quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin), and tetracycline antibiotics (e.g., doxycycline, minocycline). Therefore, separate your doses of these medications as far as possible from your doses of this product. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about how long you should wait between doses and for help finding a dosing schedule that will work with all your medications.
Folic acid may affect certain laboratory tests for vitamin B12 deficiency, resulting in false test results. Untreated vitamin B12 deficiency may result in serious nerve problems (e.g., peripheral neuropathy with numbness/tingling symptoms). Consult your doctor or pharmacist for details.

Laboratory tests (e.g., blood sugar, liver function tests) may be performed periodically to check for side effects. Consult your doctor for more details.

MISSED DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.
